Services that support recovery, stability, wellness, and connection to care.

Northern Hope Center is a community behavioral health provider in Fairbanks, Alaska. We provide behavioral health rehabilitation services, Community Recovery Support Services, Intensive Case Management, Peer-Based Crisis Services, Treatment Plan Development/Review, supported employment, health protection services, substance use treatment referrals, meals, transportation support, basic needs assistance, and resource navigation.

Northern Hope Center is seeking final DBH approval to provide 23-Hour Crisis Observation and Stabilization services. COS services will be available only when authorized, staffed, and appropriate for the participant’s needs.

Integrated Behavioral Health and Peer Support Services

Northern Hope Center provides low-barrier behavioral health services, peer support, case management, recovery support, and crisis stabilization in a safe and welcoming environment. Services may be available at no cost to eligible participants depending on funding, Medicaid eligibility, and program requirements.

Coming Soon: 23-Hour Crisis Observation and Stabilization

Mental Health Drop-In Center

Provides a safe, welcoming space for adults seeking behavioral health support, daily resources, meals, peer connections, and community support.

Intensive Case Management

Provides support with housing, healthcare access, benefits, appointments, service coordination, resource navigation, and long-term stability planning.

Supported Employment

Helps participants prepare for and obtain employment through job readiness, career support, employment planning, and connection to work opportunities.

Community Recovery Support Services and Peer Support

Provides peer-led recovery support, encouragement, wellness planning, skill-building, community connection, and support from individuals with lived experience.

Positive Pathways for Alaska Recovery: Health Protection

Supports wellness and recovery through health education, overdose prevention education, naloxone access, health protection supplies, referral coordination, and connection to community supports.

Substance Use Treatment Referrals

Northern Hope Center does not currently provide licensed substance use treatment. We assist individuals with substance use concerns by providing referrals, resource navigation, warm handoffs, health protection support, and follow-up coordination with community treatment providers.

Referral support may include helping identify treatment options, connecting participants to outpatient or residential treatment when appropriate, assisting with intake paperwork, contacting treatment providers, coordinating transportation when available, providing follow-up support, and connecting participants to recovery and peer support resources.

Meals, Transportation, and Basic Needs Support

Offers meals, transportation assistance when available, and support with essential daily living needs.

Resource Navigation and Warm Handoffs

Helps participants connect with behavioral health providers, medical care, housing resources, benefits, treatment providers, recovery supports, and community-based services.

What We Are Not

Northern Hope Center is not an emergency department, an inpatient psychiatric hospital, a medically monitored detoxification provider, or an involuntary treatment facility. Individuals needing emergency medical care, inpatient psychiatric hospitalization, medical detoxification, or involuntary treatment will be referred or transferred to the appropriate level of care.
